Financial Literacy: How to Earn, Manage and Save Money

Our hands-on financial literacy course introduces middle schoolers to the topic of money and the role of monetary system in the economy of a country! We will cover the meaning and history of money, foreign currencies, and the role of banks. The middle section of the course will take a step back from big ideas and will focus student’s attention on their individual needs and wants. We will learn what earning money, budgeting, and what it means to separate needs from wants. Then, we will move on to saving, borrowing, and investing, and how understanding these basics will allow students to achieve their goals. Every lesson plan is presented in a fun and engaging way, allowing students to work in teams, practice their executive function skills, and complete a fun hands-on project every class.
